Dr. Leeda Rashid is a practicing physician and researcher. She has led one of the first research teams in Afghanistan, exploring the health impacts of war and conflict. She is the founding partner of HEEDA. She is also a native of Afghanistan and has worked both as a researcher and clinician in Afghanistan during multiple engagements with academic and private organizations, including USAID and the Harvard School of Public Health. She has been invited by the Minister of Health to present her research findings. She is currently writing for her first book on the recent advances of the Afghan Health Sector. She holds an MD from the Oregon Health Sciences University and a Masters in Global Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
