Morcel Hamidy is a Program Associate for Embrace at HEEDA, and she helps expand this program to get multiple Embrace units at many different sites in Afghanistan. Both of her parents were born in Kabul, Afghanistan, and brought the culture with them when they settled in the United States. Morcel is grateful for the opportunity to give back to where her roots are.
Morcel is currently a senior at University of California, San Diego, studying Physiology and Neuroscience. There she also mentors elementary school girls interested in science, connects students in an all women school in Kabul with college students in San Diego for tutoring and mentoring, and researches HIV.
